Currently there is an ongoing event for Ben Kende called ‘Go Dry For Ben’. The Go Dry for Ben charity campaign was set up in aid of the Ben Kende Foundation. Supported by Laxton Marketing, the HKRFU Charitable Trust along with Peter & Jenny Kende the event encourages participants to not drink alcohol for a continuous period of 30 days in the name of charity.
Go Dry For Ben commences on Monday 6th February 2012 and will run until the 1st November 2012. Participants will be able to choose a consecutive 30day period between the event dates in which they wish to carry out their pledge. All pledges must be completed by November the 1st. Therefore, the final date for registration is 30 days prior (2nd October). Pledge forms can be found at the bottom of this page.
Each participant is responsible for raising sponsorship to carry out their pledge. Participants are encouraged to collect sponsorship prior to the commencement of their pledge and MUST declare the total amount collected within 3 days after commencement. Sponsorship forms can be found on the bottom of this page.
To ensure that the Ben Kende Foundation benefits from this event, there is a small catch. Any participant that fails to complete their pledge must then become responsible for paying the full amount of sponsorship raised themselves. If a participant raises a collective sponsorship amount of HK$5,000 but fails to complete their pledge then the participant is then responsible for paying the total amount of HK$5,000. In short, DON’T FAIL!
All participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship fees to carry out their pledge. A minimum amount of HK$500 needs to be raised in order to take part.
